The challenges
Widely used in the food, perfume and aromatherapy industries thanks to its unique taste and smell, vanilla is also known as “green gold”. But the paradox is, in Madagascar which contributes to more than 70% of the world’s vanilla production the smallholders who produce it are far from earning “gold”.
- Strong speculation and predatory behaviors among some intermediaries result in high theft rates in the field and difficulties in accessing profitable markets
- Smallholders farmers in remoted areas, lacking technical support, are faced with low productivity rates, lack of quality, and climate hazards

We empower over 2,500 farmers through targeted training, improved agricultural practices, and direct access to international markets. By fostering long-term partnerships with committed companies, we support fairer value distribution and greater market stability. This collaborative approach strengthens rural communities, sustains resilient livelihoods, and brings greater transparency and connection between global supply chains and the farmers at their source. - A full traceability of our products :
Our products are fully traceable, sourced exclusively from verified producers in the Analanjirofo region of Madagascar. Supported by a transparent and controlled supply chain, each batch can be traced directly back to its originating farmers. This rigorous traceability guarantees authenticity, builds lasting trust with our partners, and showcases the distinctive terroir and craftsmanship of local producers.
- Diversifying incomes and empowering women & young :
With vanilla accounting for 40% of the farmer households’ income, the project is now integrating new food crops to support farm diversification and contribute to food security in addition to cloves and cinnamon. Although food security remains a challenge in the project area, women farmer groups in the project area are now managing kitchen gardens to contribute to reduce malnutrition, and VSLA to get access to finance and reduce their living costs
